Artist comments

This year I witnessed an environmental disaster.
After the explosion of the dam, a giant wave crippled the nature of my country for decades.
People, animals, fish suffered.
Hundreds of newts died.
The death of these strange amphibians struck my heart.
The dystopia has become a reality.
I would like to think that something else can be done to see how tulips bloom

 審査員評

You succeeded to create a magical visual language which tell the story without any words.
Great color palette for this moody atmosphere.

Sigal Caspin Segal

BELDIILESIA accurately portrays a sense of sadness through the image.
The simplicity and cleanliness of the composition make it an excellent piece.

Yidong Cai

The loose brushstrokes are very expressive to communicate the sad thing about the subject matter, but the character design is very friendly which helps there to be a dramatic balance helping to make the subject matter accessible to both children and adults.
The art process gives the artist the chance to overcome the constraints of his preferred medium but also gives the chance to play around with his very own and beautiful human constraints.
AI deprived us from this. Stay strong.

Jose Sanchez

The contrast between the calm background that is almost achromatic and the characters with strong colors is impressive.
I really like the unique warmth that the illustration gives.

Eunbi Kang

The shadows and sadness cast by environmental disasters are well expressed in this work.
The bright colors of the people accent the dark background, and the illustration as a whole is well put together.

Mayuko Utanishi
