used art supplies or application softneedle pen Artist's commentsThe original work of No Man's Land was hand-drew on a long grid-like scroll,17x19cm each. The “land” presented in each individual drawings is related to the events or thoughts I experienced at that moment. Drawing lines is my way of remembering and thinking. Children in my work who will never grow up to "men" are the longest-lasting residents. Their appearance and disappearance, like the stimulation brought by the things around me, are fragmented, but they form continuous memories. |
審査員評Haijing's use of a needle pen is truly astonishing. The artwork is rich with storytelling, evoking a sense of nostalgia, strangeness, and solitude. Each line drawn with the needle pen adds intricate detail and texture, enhancing the depth and emotion of the piece. The nostalgic elements transport the viewer to a different time, while the strange and lonely aspects create a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere. Haijing’s ability to convey such complex feelings through detailed and delicate line work is impressive, making each piece a compelling and unforgettable experience. Van Li The suite of images immerses the audience in a unique world where the story is conveyed solely through light and shadow. With exquisite pen drawing skills, each image provides detailed visual information, inviting the audience to contemplate the mood and atmosphere. Haimeng Cao Beautiful Line work! The intricate details in each individual drawing are truly impressive, and the contrast in the density of these details makes the children in the work stand out. Rita Yuwei Li It is something of great value to see when there is this level of commitment to what is drawn, there are no shortcuts in drawing what you want to draw, even if it is a multitude of bottles, grass, rocks or footprints on the floor, you draw each element, you do not join them with others to form a single mass at a distance that simplifies the details. Audacious perspectives and very good control of shadows. Two things that I feel that Haijing could take advantage of from his/her/x talent, is that in "no-mans wonderlands 02" the skull has straw houses as a floor, but it has no background, which loses congruence in relation to the other works that do have one, and they reach the details from the bottom to the end of the sheet (with what I said at the beginning of this text). The other thing is that you could take care that the excess of details does not harm the composition, because in "no-mans wonderlands 03", the volcano ends very tight at the top, and the smoke remains at the edge of the work. The floor at the bottom could have been made smaller, to take the entire work down and give more space to the volcano. If one works with a powerful use of details, the composition has to make space for the details to also breathe. Lucas León Incredibly detailed pieces. This series reflects the artist's contemplation embedded within the drawing. The lines are very beautiful, and the depiction is very precise. It carries a strong sense of fantasy, showcasing the author's excellent imagination. PINGNAN LU |
