I have watched the film "Raise the Red Lantern" many times and absolutely love it! Yinko really captured the essence of the film perfectly. The depiction of dresses without real humans in them powerfully highlights how women are treated like objects by Mr. Chan in the story. The illustrations are beautifully rendered, showcasing solid skills and a deep understanding of the film's themes. Each piece is both visually striking and thought-provoking.

The illustrations explore a theme relevant to modern society by examining the role of women within it. The use of the color red carries an intriguing figurative meaning, and along with other symbolic elements like clothes and lanterns, it adds a rich symbolic layer to the work.

This series of illustration have strong cultural symbolism. The recurring red elements add a striking visual continuity, the hopes and misfortunes of women in ancient China, to the narrative. Great work!

Great drawing talent, the artist has a shading technique that gives a realistic character to his/her/x aesthetics. Beautiful compositions, mixing cinema with conceptual photography, they expresse very well the symbols of power of the man over woman in that story of conservatism, and with the same talent, she symbolizes what women face if they make their own decision, taking the color red not only to represent the character´s passion and desire for freedom, but also the passion and desire for freedom of the women from past eras, while she is illuminating her path.
