Artist's comments

1. This work suggests that the biggest problem on climate issues is not the climate itself, but our ignorant attitudes on it.
2. This work suggests that people follow their own beliefs on healthcare.

 審査員評

In the artworks of David Moon, I recognize the modern world. A huge number of people who often make wrong decisions. This is similar to Brownian motion, when particles move randomly, changing trajectories, slowing down and speeding up, but not stopping for a moment. We are all apparently participating in a large-scale experiment, and no one knows in advance what the result will be. The artist talks to us about serious things but speaks without moral teachings, as if we were adults who are able to grasp the main idea through humor. Yes, it was this humor, as well as fantasy, craftsmanship, and enormous work—that's what captivated me in the illustrations of David Moon!

Grand, detailed, and impressive! Especially in Ballers: Bodybuilding, Davide introduced hundreds of creative ways people engage with physical health. I can sense his sharp observations on life and his humor throughout the work. On top of that, finishing a crowded, fully detailed illustration without losing control is impressive enough—not to mention the strong use of color and creativity in this series. Great work.

The artist uses humor to present the themes of “climate” and “health.” Each little character in the scene seems to have their own task — appearing independent, yet closely interconnected. The overall tone is playful, but it also invites deeper reflection.

Moon Q

DavidMoon’s work constructs a hyper-detailed, system-like world that feels chaotic at first glance but reveals its own internal logic. Dozens of characters and actions unfold simultaneously, creating a sense of visual overload that reflects the density and absurdity of contemporary life. Despite the complexity, the composition remains controlled—each element has its role in this layered urban ecosystem. The series operates as both narrative and diagram, satirical and strangely functional.

The author uses a bright, low-saturated colour scheme and dramatic cartoon shapes to subtly incorporate the key events of the era into the texture of the images. The intricate details are linked to each other by well-designed visual cues to form a narrative labyrinth of Milos-style metaphors. Viewers can follow these invisible 'Ariadne's threads' through the picture and, as they do so, the unknown story gradually becomes illuminated in the unfolding picture space.
