Judges' commentsDaria Lada presents us with more than just illustrations. This is a real manifesto. A conversation about the problems that concern every inhabitant of this planet. And the somewhat conventional, ascetic style only adds interest. There are no unnecessary details here; they would only distract the viewer's attention from the main idea. Clear forms and skillful work with color temperature are the artist's main tools. Ekaterina Borodacheva Super clean and powerful visual language. The limited palette works really well, and I love how each piece plays with light and geometry. The storytelling is abstract but hits emotionally—feels thoughtful and intentional throughout. Max Liu It feels as if the artist is playing a game of geometry and space. The overlapping and interconnected elements seem to hint at hidden metaphors, inviting the viewer to think more deeply. The use of strong contrasting colors also leaves a striking and memorable impression. Moon Q Daria Lada’s works stand out through their metaphorical clarity and visual storytelling. The use of color, form, and texture serves the narrative and emotional tone with precision. The compositions are well-constructed, each element supporting the main message. Abstract shapes are used purposefully, enhancing the symbolism and guiding the viewer’s interpretation. The metaphors feel intentional and layered, adding depth without becoming obscure. Nadiia Zhelieznova What touches me about this series of works is that the artist uses straight lines to cut out forms and creates strong contrasts between warmth and coolness. The compositions feature 'cracks', which signal the intensification of conflicts between humans and nature. Additionally, the artist places the female figure in the midst of a broken, crying, panicked and imprisoned nature, as if she is the manifestation of the Goddess of Nature. However, when facing 'man-made power', they give the viewer a sense of powerlessness akin to an abyss. Perhaps this is the artist's account of, and indictment of, human persecution against divinity.
