【作品に関するコメント】
This is a children’s picture book for the kids ages 3 - 6. The story is about Dodo, the little red fish, wants to leave the bowl and find some friends. She asks the reader to help set her free by turning the book upside down. During her journey, she meets many fish, but none of them wants to be her friend. She then realises she has never left the bowl but is still trapped inside the book. She asks the reader to help her one more time by peeling her off the book. In the end, Dodo enters the real world with her new friend - the reader.
Recently, many children are addicted to electronic devices, so the author designed this picture book, offering unconventional reading experience in order to enhance the reading pleasure of the readers. At the end of the story, by letting the reader take the fish out of the book, the book encourages children to explore the world, to think outside the box, and to explore ideas that are creative and unusual.

昨今はイラストの世界もAI、またはデジタルなものが主流となりつつありますが、イラストとは、印刷され、二次元から三次元という形を持ち、手に触れる紙の感触やページをめくる楽しさも加わるそんな魅力ある手法であったということを再確認させるアイデアの絵本です。イラストのタッチがかなり計算され、シンプルなものでありながらも、退屈な構図ではなく、温かみがあり年齢層もかなり幅広く好まれるものだと思います。イラストのコンテストは描きこまれた作品がよく取り上げられますが、シンプル イズ ベストな作品も多いに評価されるべきであり、この作品はその価値が十分あると思います。

スマホやタブレットが普及する中、紙の絵本としては非常に面白いアイデアでした。 デジタルが当たり前の現代の子供たちにとって、主人公の魚が絵本から現実世界に飛び出してくるという体験は、忘れることのない印象深い読書体験になるのではないでしょうか。

実際に物語のパーツを取り出せる体験は、親子で楽しめる体感的絵本だと思いました。色彩もキャラクターも分かり易くとても可愛い作品です。最後の魚のパーツを取り出す事が楽しみの絵本として、子どもたちのリピーターとなる事に間違いないと思います。

単に読んで楽しむだけの絵本ではなく、体験する絵本ということで、その発想が素晴らしいと思います。外の世界に出て食べられそうになった時に大きな魚の歯を外したり、最後には絵本からも開放してあげる、子供達が楽しめるように工夫されています。
