Jieli Cup Jinbo Children’s Literature Award Silver Medal
Selected to 12th Hiii Illustration International Competition. 
Little Goat arrives in a bustling town and longs to stay—yet no shop will hire her.
So she dreams up a bold idea: build her own Town!
She invites Little Tree, the blackbird couple, Ms. Spider and Mr. Hedgehog to move in, and soon the town boasts a shadow-clock tower that tells the time, a pattern artist and a fur-styling barber.
As more neighbors arrive, bookshops, boutiques and florists spring up one after another.
Wouldn’t you like to make your home here too?

子ヤギは賑やかな町にやって来て、ずっと住み続けたいと願っていますが、どのお店も雇ってくれません。
そこで子ヤギは大胆なアイデアを思いつきます。
それは、自分の町を作ることです！
子ヤギは、子木、クロウタドリのカップル、クモさんとハリネズミさんを住まいに招待します。
するとすぐに、町には時を告げる影時計台、模様職人、毛皮スタイリングの理髪師などが誕生します。
近所の人たちが増えるにつれて、書店、ブティック、花屋が次々とオープンします。

Judges' comments

自由なデフォルメと、絵本ならではの伸びやかな表現の楽しさが印象的な作品でした。
のびのびと描かれていながらも、画面全体の構成やバランスが丁寧に整えられており、絵本としてのまとまりを感じました。
色使いにも温かさがあり、物語の世界観を自然に支えている点が魅力的だと思いました。

This work was impressive for its free-flowing deformation and the joy of free-flowing expression that is unique to picture books.
While the drawings are free-flowing, the composition and balance of the entire screen are carefully arranged, giving it a sense of cohesion as a picture book.
The use of color is also warm, and I thought it was appealing how it naturally supports the worldview of the story.

児童文学賞や国際コンクールに入選されてたことがわかるイラスト作品です。
ただの平面ではなく、いろいろな素材を用い、２Dなイラストの世界を優しい目線で3Dにしているのも読者である子供達の目線、軽やかな興味をそそり、可愛らしい試みに溢れたイラストです。

It's no wonder these illustrations have been selected for children's literature awards and international competitions.
Rather than simply using flat surfaces, the 2D world of the illustrations is transformed into 3D with a gentle perspective, using a variety of materials, which piques the interest of the children who are the readers, and is an illustration full of adorable experiments.

主人公の羊の、手作りのような温かみのある表情もとても印象的でした。
また、本作を手がけるクライアントが、ボローニャ・チルドレンズ・ブックフェアでの受賞をはじめ、国内外で高い評価を受けている知名度のある児童書出版社である点も、本作品の魅力と信頼性をより一層高めていると感じました。

The unique and adorable illustrations and captivating story are captivating enough to captivate both children and adults.
The warm, handmade expression of the main character, a sheep, was also very striking.
Furthermore, the fact that the client behind this work is a well-known children's book publisher that has received high praise both domestically and internationally, including winning an award at the Bologna Children's Book Fair, further enhances the appeal and credibility of this work.

優しい色使いとタッチのイラストで、好感が持てます。
一見平面のように見えるイラストですが、よく見るといろんな素材がコラージュのように使われており、作品の個性を際立たせています。
このイラストを見たらきっと子供達が手に取って読みたくなるでしょう。

The illustrations are very appealing, with their gentle use of colors and touch.
At first glance, the illustrations appear flat, but on closer inspection, various materials are used like a collage, giving the work a unique character.
When children see these illustrations, they'll surely want to pick them up and read them.
